Bio
Charlotte Riley is an English actress best known for her roles as Sarah Hurst in the film Easy Virtue (2008) and as Catherine Earnshaw in ITV's adaptation of Wuthering Heights, in 2009.
She also had a starring role as Caris, the feisty daughter of Edmund Wooller who continually fights for what she believes in and is capable of operating in a male dominated society, in the television miniseries World Without End.
Riley was born in England and trained at the prestigious LAMDA, The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She has a degree in English and Linguistics from Durham University.
Film credits include the lead in Grand Street, directed by Lex Sidon; Entity, directed by Steve Stone; and the highly acclaimed Easy Virtue, starring Colin Firth, Kristin Scott-Thomas and Ben Barnes, directed by Stephan Elliott.
Television credits include The Wrong Man for BBC, Miss Marple – The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side for ITV, The Forgotten Fallen for BBC4, Foyle's War (ITV1) The Take for Sky Television and Cathy in Wuthering Heights for ITV opposite Tom Hardy.
Theatre credits include The Priory for the Royal Court Theatre and Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard for Chichester Festival Theatre.
