Jenny Slate is an American actress and comedienne best known as a cast member of the sketch comedy television series Saturday Night Live, from 2009-2010.
Slate joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in the 2009-10 season from the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, the improv/sketch theatre co-founded by SNL alumni Amy Poehler, where she performed her one-woman show Dead Millionaire to sold out crowds in the New York City and Los Angeles theatres.
Slate partnered with Gabe Liedman and together they had their own weekly show at the Rififi, Gabe & Jenny. She appeared in a Verizon TV advertisement, in which she and her co-workers shout at one another due to technical failure.
Slate previously appeared in Late Night with Jimmy Fallon's parody sketch, 7th Floor West; and had recurring arcs on HBO's Bored To Death and the Fox comedy series Brothers.
Originally from Milton, Massachusetts, Slate graduated from Columbia University. Her birthday is March 25.
