Deborah Rush is an American actress best known to television viewers for her roles as Sara Blank in Strangers with Candy (1999-2000) and as Linda Franklin in Big Lake, in 2010.
Rush was born in Chatham, New Jersey. As an undergraduate at NYU, Deborah acted in plays at La Mama and The Public Theater, including several seasons of Shakespeare in the Park.
Her Off-Broadway shows included Holeville at BAM starring Big Lake director Don Scardino. At The Public Theater, Rush starred in Judas Iscariot.
Her Broadway credits include starring roles in Blithe Spirit, Hay Fever, Absurd Person Singular and Noises Off, which she received a Tony Award nomination for.
Rush's film career includes roles in Blake Edwards' Ten, Woody Allen's Zelig and Purple Rose of Cairo, American Wedding, Half Nelson, The Good Girl and Julie and Julia.
Rush is remembered from television seasons of Strangers with Candy and Spin City, as well as episodes of Law & Order.
