Guy Pearce is an English-born Australian actor and musician best known for his roles as Leonard Shelby in Christopher Nolan's Memento, Lieutenant Ed Exley in L.A. Confidential, a drag queen in the The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Mike Young in the Australian television series Neighbours and King Edward VIII in The King's Speech.
He also played Monty Beragon in the television mini-series Mildred Pierce, for which he won an Emmy award for Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries, in 2011.
Pearce earned a Best Supporting Actor nomination from the British Independent Film Awards and nominations from the Broadcast Film Critics Association, Detroit Film Critics Society and Phoenix Film Critics Society for Best Acting Ensemble for his work in The King's Speech.
His other feature credits include the Academy Award winner The Hurt Locker, Animal Kingdom, The Road, I Am You, Bedtime Stories, Traitor, Factory Girl, First Snow, The Proposition, The Time Machine, The Count of Monte Cristo, Memento, Rules of Engagement, Woundings and L.A. Confidential, for which he shared a Screen Actors Guild nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast.
Pearce's other films include Ravenous, The Hungry Rabbit Jumps, Lock Out and Don't Be Afraid of the Dark.
He also played the role of Rob McGregor in the Australian television series Snowy River: The McGregor Saga, from 1994-1996.
He has been married to Kate Mestitz, a psychologist, since March 1997.
