Bio
Krista Simmons is an American food critic and journalist best known as a judge on the reality cooking competition series Top Chef Masters, since 2012.
She is the Food Editor at LAist, and also runs a modern restaurant etiquette column for Grub Street called the Department of Deportment. She has contributed regularly to the Los Angeles Times, LA Weekly, New York Magazine and Metromix, to name a few.
While working at the L.A. Times, she wrote cover stories for the Food section and tracked Top Chef for the Daily Dish blog - all while attending culinary night school.
When she's not busy harvesting honey in Australia or exploring the regional cuisine of Belize, she produces and hosts culinary videos and curates local food events.
On her days off, she can be found making homemade pasta in her studio alongside her Shiba Inu pup, Bento.
