Vuyi Mpofu is a South African motoring journalist, entrepreneur and television personality best known for her brand and television series Driving in Heels.
Vuyi was raised in an environment of cars and mechanics and developed an interest in all things motoring at an early age. Having worked in the corporate sphere for over 15 years, she decided to pursue her childhood passion for motoring and discovered a niche within the South African motoring landscape – a motoring communication designed for women, by women.
She spent six years developing the Driving in Heels brand and works as a motoring lifestyle journalist, writing weekly for the Driving in Heels social media outlets and monthly for Stokvel Voice magazine.
She is a regular guest on Ignition GT and Buyer's Guide, a weekend motoring television programme. She also appears on Radio 2000 and on PowerFM.
Vuyi also conducts regular Car Care Clinics named Driving Divas Workshops, aimed at the female component of large corporate companies and the public.
She has also designed and presents a female specific Defensive Driver Training Course is a judge on the annual Women on Wheels competition and is a member of the South African Guild of Motoring Journalists.
In 2016 she was one of the judges on the e.tv reality competition series So You Think You Can Spin, along with spinners Magesh Ndaba and Preshu Singh.
