Benito Carelsen is a South African actor, producer and director best known for his starring role as Eldridge in thew SABC2 sitcom Kniediep in die Warm Water.
Born and raised in Port Elizabeth, he matriculated from Bethelsdorp High School and furthered his studies at Stageworld Theatre School, an independent performing arts training institute.
He made his screen acting debut in the recurring role of a manager in the SABC1 youth drama series Loxion Lyric, in early 2014.
He next landed a starring role in the now-defunct eKasi+ channel's sitcom Songololo, which tells the story of two brothers who come up with elaborate schemes in order to fulfil a promise they made to their grandfather: to become millionaires.
The series premiered on the channel on 14 October, 2014.
Benito returned to television in July 2020 with a starring role in the SABC2 sitcom Kniediep in die Warm Water (Knee Deep in the Warm Water), set in the Wonderwaters Spa, an exclusive hotel near Port Elizabeth's beachfront run by an inefficient manager with a staff lacking in skills.
In the series he plays Eldridge, the personal trainer with anger issues and a dodgy past.
