Elsabé Daneel is a South African actress with an extensive resumé in Afrikaans theatre, film and television.

She is the mother of actress Roeline Daneel.

Elsabé matriculated from Jan van Riebeeck High School in Cape Town and obtained a B.A. degree in Languages, Psychology and Drama Theory from the University of Stellenbosch in 1976; and a Higher Teacher's Diploma in 1977.

She made her film debut in the 1981 feature Beloftes van Môre (Promises of Tomorrow) and her television acting debut in the comedy-drama series Koöperasiestories, playing the role of Ans in the second episode, entitled "Soontjie", which aired on 4 May, 1983.

Other films she has acted in include Eintlik Nogal Baie, Strikdas, The Recce, Appels en Bome and Gideon Scheepers.

On stage she has appeared in numerous productions in dramatic and comedic roles, including Deon Opperman's Bittersoet. She also appeared with Niël Rademan in the Song and Poetry programs.

She starred in Leon Kruger's stage play Old Leaves and often works with director Juanita Swanepoel, for example in Uys Krige's Die Ryk Widuwee.

Elsabé is best known for her work in television, however, with roles in dozens of series.

After performances in drama series like Die Sonkring, Torings and Triptiek, she landed the role of Linda Jordaan on the SABC2 soapie 7de Laan. Originally intended as a small recurring role, she went on to have a significant stint on the show.

She has acted in numerous kykNET dramas and comedies including Vloeksteen, Die Byl, Spoorloos, Projek Dina, Afgrond and G.I.L.

She also played the recurring role of Estelle Fourie in the kykNET soapie Suidooster, making her first appearance in the role on 21 March, 2017.

In 2019 she landed the starring role of Brenda, the matriarch of the Malan family, in the kykNET drama series Alles Malan, returning for the second season in 2021.

She also had a recurring role in the SABC2 telenovela Die Sentrum, making her first appearance in the role in Season 1, Episode 26, which aired on 2 July, 2021.
