Bio
Lonwabo Jobodwana is a South African graphic designer who was a contestant on the first season of the reality show The Cut: South Africa in 2006.
She was 21 at the time of entering the show, and a graphic design student from East London.
Lonwabo hails from a township outside of King Williams Town called Phakamisa in the Eastern Cape where she lives with her mom.
She has two brothers who are younger than her. At a young age Lonwabo went for keyboard lessons but that did not quite work out so she went to art classes with Isabel Spies.
She then took art as a subject until matric and decided from Grade 8 that she wanted to do Graphic Design.
Most of her free time she spends drawing, painting or making earrings which she sells under the label KUHLE APHA, (meaning it's beautiful here).
Lonwabo explains why she entered The Cut: “I can finally use my talents practically and under a different environment, so I can be open to new challenges and learn new things.
“My dream in life is to combine business, design and reasonable, sustainable ideas which will have an impact not only in my life but socially as well.”
