Diane Neal is an American actress best known for her role as Assistant District Attorney Casey Novak on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Born in Alexandria, Virginia, Neal moved to Colorado as a child when her father, a federal attorney, transferred to Denver.
Prior to joining the cast of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Neal attended the prestigious Atlantic Theater Company Acting School in Manhattan.
Audiences and producers started noticing Neal for her roles as a rock & roll star on Ed, a smart-ass nemesis on The American Embassy, an outlandish fiancée on the Dennis Leary comedy pilot Adam and Lenny and as the conflicted cop of tomorrow in Joel Silver's pilot Future Tense.
Her film credits include the starring role in Dimension cult films' Dracula: Legacy, and its sequel Dracula: Ascension with Jason Scott Lee. Her film Second Born, directed by Jevon Roush, toured various indie festivals.
Neal has lived and worked in numerous countries around the world, from Taiwan to Egypt. Traveling, foreign languages and ancient history are some of her favourite pastimes.
Having grown up in Colorado she also adores skiing, hiking and camping. She is also devoted to working with charitable organisations that help promote better living standards and health care for children and their families around the world.
Neal resides in New York and is married to Marcus FitzGerald. With close connections to the fashion industry, they can frequently be seen at many of the city's top social and charitable events.
