Spoorloos is a South African, Afrikaans-language drama anthology series in which each season is set in a small town where there is a disappearance, a riddle that must be solved and where the past has a huge impact on the present.
The first season is based on the novel Daddy Long Legs by Vernon W. Baumann and set in the fictional town of Digtersdal in the Eastern Cape, a ghost town which never recovered from a spate of serial killings 13 years previously.
In search of healing and revival after 13 years of unresolved mysteries, the serial killer suddenly returns, meaning a detective and a journalist must open all the old wounds.
In Season 2, a man wakes up after being in a coma for 18 months caused by an accident on the evening of his matric farewell. His partner died in the accident, but he can't remember anything.
When Adam later remembers a traumatic experience, he decides to try and find out what happened the night of the accident.
Does it have anything to do with the girls that were suspected of witchcraft?
In Season 3, a baby disappears from a farm in the Northern Cape. Two people are found dead. There is no trace of the baby or her carer.
What happened that fateful night? Who was murdered and by whom? And why was the baby abducted?
Fifteen years later her family gets the news: she's been found...
In Season 4, a woman disappears, ghosts from the past come back and a mystery must be solved.
The season follows the life of Stefan Claassen, an adventurous young architect who is hurled into chaos when an ill-fated chance encounter with his long-lost love not only reignites his feelings for her, but drags him into a web of deceit when she disappears.
