Skemerdans is a South African, Afrikaans-language crime drama series which revolves around a tragedy at The Oasis - the hottest night spot on the Cape Flats - which leaves the club at the centre of a power struggle, and a mystery.
The neo-noir murder mystery is set at The Oasis, a jazz club and after-dark entertainment venue that becomes the centre of a power struggle between two brothers, a scorned widow and an organised crime syndicate.
Kevin Smith, Ilse Klink and Brendon Daniels lead the cast as Glenn, his wife Shireen and his brother Trevor respectively.
Ceagan Arendse is the black sheep of the family, Warren; Trudy van Rooy is Glenn's prodigal daughter, Jessie; and Vinette Ebrahim is the formidable Fortune family matriarch, Mercia.
Carl Weber stars as Enver, one of the Adams brothers - mob bosses who are busy buying up the strip around The Oasis.
Bongo Mbutuma plays his partner in crime and brother from another mother, Clifford.

The series was created, written and executive produced by Amy Jephta, who is also the showrunner and co-director with Ephraim Gordon.

Filming took place along Voortrekker Road and at Club Galaxy in Rylands, Cape Town, which doubles as The Oasis and the Adams brothers' strip club The Velvet Room.
