Episode 1
Princess Mhlongo just got her big break. She's the first ever-African director to be invited to compete in the world's most glamorous theatre festival in Saltzburg Austria.
Up against the best young directors from Austria, France and Korea, Princess must put a power team together to win. There's six weeks on the clock - she gets started right away.
Episode 2
Princess must complete her power team that she'll take to compete at the world famous Saltzburg Festival in Austria. With just six weeks left before opening night, Princess learns that even though she's been invited, getting her team to Austria won't be as simple as jumping on a plane.
Episode 3
Princess' team is complete and she begins rehearsals for her play Trapped. Princess is anxious about how the cast will feel about her script, her debut writing work.
But day one of rehearsal begins with a tragedy. Will Princess be able to find the strength to carry on?
Episode 4
Princess must continue rehearsals without her greatest asset - stage manager Thunyelwa, who's left to bury her father. Whilst pushing on with rehearsals she must also keep her wildly creative set and costume designer Thando focused on creating the world of her play Trapped.
But with her stage manager gone, Princess' team begins to rebel.
Episode 5
Princess rehearses the female characters in her play but is confronted with actor's insecurities. She must find a way to work through their anxieties and bring out their best or her show could be ruined.
Episode 6
Two weeks to go before Princess' show Trapped opens in Grahamstown. But some the harsh winter and freezing theatre has taken its toll making some of the cast sick and unable to work.
It's also time for Thando to do fittings with the cast - but the costumes are not welcomed with open arms.
Episode 7
The cast has recovered, but is walking on thin ice. Princess calls in her power duo, the play's music composer Zimkhitha and choreographer Hlengiwe to polish the music and movement in the show.
But the play's massive set exposes some very real fears and Princess learns that singing is truly a gift only few possess.
Episode 8
Princess has one week to go before the play travels to Grahamstown for the first performance. Her cast is exhausted but Princess still needs them to dig deeper.
She asks Hlengiwe to design an exercise to push them further, but does she push them too far?
Episode 9
The Grahamstown National Festival of the Arts is just a few days away and to evaluate her cast's readiness, Princess has a full dress rehearsal planned in front of a test audience.
But the lighting design is incomplete and Princess finds out that her lighting designer Mandla must leave early for the festival. On top of everything, minutes before the run some important props go missing.
Episode 10
The moment of truth has arrived as the team leaves for Grahamstown. It's time to complete the lighting design for the play and do a technical run with the cast. But with just one day left before opening night, has Princess left the lighting too late?
And then Princess' worst nightmare materializes – an actor gets injured.
Episode 11
Mandla completes his lighting design but the nerves are finally taking their toll on the exhausted Princess. The show opens and is met with mixed reviews - some love the play but Princess also receives some hard-to-swallow criticism about her script.
Episode 12
The team returns from a week off post Grahamstown but Princess has been busy revising the script. She must now implement the changes and get the play ready for Austria, which is just one week away.
Some cast members struggle to adapt to the changes, others fall ill and miss the entire week of rehearsals. The day of departure arrives and they leave for Saltzburg, but are they ready?
Episode 13
The team arrives in Saltzburg, Austria, a whole new world for some, a dream comes true for Princess. But it's crunch time and this is a competition.
The show opens and leaves the Austrian audiences in awe; a great reward after a very long and grueling journey. Now Princess waits to find out if she's been crowned the Saltzburg Festival's 2012 top young director.
