Season 1
A Bit of Fry & Laurie was a comedy sketch show written and performed by Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie and broadcast by the BBC between 1989 and 1995.
Often referred to as "highbrow humour" the show was a collage of sketches poking affable fun at numerous British institutions and relied heavily on verbose wordplay, innuendo and grammatical genius.
Aiming at a more intellectual audience Fry and Laurie exploited the deliciously wry, tongue-in-cheek and eccentric understatement of Britons by creating commentary that both poked fun at and upheld all that is good and bad about Great Britain.
The show ran for four seasons, totalling 26 episodes. After years of pressure from devoted fans the first season and pilot were released on DVD in April 2006, with promises of more to come.
