Season 2
Toby Logan (Craig Olejnik) is a 30-year-old paramedic living with a secret: he can read people's minds. Until now, he's kept it to himself, fearing that his telepathic powers were a sign that he's slowly but surely losing his mind.
However, the more he learns how to use it, the more he comes to believe that this telepathy thing can be pretty darn cool – that this confounding curse might, in fact, be a gift.
Now that Toby has decided to step out of the shadows, and embrace his fate, he's got a new perspective on life.
In Season 2, Toby will encounter complicated situations that can only be solved with his one-of-a-kind abilities. Along the way, he will struggle, stumble and ultimately succeed with his telepathy.
Surviving by his wits and the counsel of a few trusted allies, he will help unravel a range of strange and confounding crimes. And he does all this while attempting the almost impossible task of leading a normal life as a hard-working, single guy, and trying to have some fun in a big city.
This season, Toby becomes involved with a specialized unit of the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) responsible for major crimes and cross-jurisdictional cases: the Integrated Investigative Bureau (IIB).
There, after assisting with an undercover case, he eventually reveals his secret to Sergeant Michelle McCluskey (Lauren Lee Smith).
Toby is determined to continue to put his gift to good use and help Michelle and her team, including her partner, Corporal Dev Clark (Rainbow Sun Francks) and lawyer, Alvin Klein (Peter Stebbings).
Michelle quickly realizes the advantage of having someone like Toby around and signs him up as a confidential informant. She now has a secret weapon, to which only she and Dev are privy.
The cases they investigate are bigger, more complex, and have national and international implications. By working with them, Toby enters the high-stakes world of crime fighting.
Later in the season, Toby begins to experience bizarre side effects from his telepathy that affect his health. His friend and former lover, Dr. Olivia Fawcett (Mylène Dinh-Robic), helps diagnose the new symptoms and further understand his condition.
Gaining a trusted colleague in the hectic St. Luke's ER, Olivia is joined this season by the hospital's new head triage nurse, Sandy (Tara Spencer-Nairn), who becomes Oz's object of affection.
