Season 2
In Season 1, Frank goes missing and turns up in Toronto, tries without success to embrace sobriety, and bends the law to protect his disability checks.
Fiona falls for Steve, a handsome player with a nice car, a fat wallet and a big secret; Ian embraces his sexuality, with the surprising support of his brainy brother, Lip; lonely Debbie kidnaps a little boy from a birthday party; and their errant mother, Monica, shows up and announces she's taking baby Liam.
It's summertime and the Gallaghers of Chicago are cooking up fresh ways to bring home the bacon. Their ventures may not be moral — or even legal — but they certainly are outrageous. Between beating the heat and keeping their cool, the Gallaghers are in for one crazy summer.
Season 2 of Shameless finds our favourite dysfunctional family braving the summertime Chicago heat trying to keep cool... and Frank (William H. Macy) out of trouble.
Bearing the de facto parent badge, Fiona (Emmy Rossum) spends her nights working at a happening nightclub and her days keeping an eye on Debbie (Emma Kenny) and Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) as they run a makeshift daycare centre at the house.
Meanwhile, brothers Lip (Jeremy Allen White) and Ian (Cameron Monaghan) are toying with the idea of college, while Sheila (Joan Cusack) is still housing Frank and making progress with her agoraphobia.
As usual, the motley brood somehow manages to hold down the fort and make sure the bills are paid, the lights are on and there is food on the table.
Shameless is executive produced by John Wells, Paul Abbott and Andrew Stearn.
