Synopsis
Johnny Smith is a man injured in a near-fatal car crash who awakens from a six-year-long coma with extraordinary psychic abilities.
These powers allow him to see into the past and future through vision triggered by touch, which he is compelled to act upon in order to help others.
In episodes ranging from high-stakes adventures to political thrillers, Johnny tests the potential and the limits of his psychic gifts while struggling to deal with a recurring vision of the future which lies at the heart of the series - a terrifying glimpse of Armageddon.
The series also stars Nicole deBoer as Johnny's former fiancée Sarah; Chris Bruno as county sheriff Walt Bannerman, who is now married to Sarah; John L. Adams as Johnny's best friend Bruce; and David Ogden Stiers as the ambitious televangelist Reverend Purdy, who controls Johnny's trust fund.
Combining action, romance, the paranormal and a continuing quest for justice, The Dead Zone follows Johnny's remarkable life as he explores the mystery surrounding his destiny and struggles to find his place in the world.
