Synopsis

Set in New York City, this sophisticated and witty comedy series takes an unusual look at the daily activities that take place at City Hall.

Meet Michael Flaherty (Michael J. Fox, Seasons 1-4) and Charlie Crawford (Charlie Sheen, Seasons 5-6), the Deputy Mayor and right-hand man to Washington's Mayor Randall Winston (Barry Bostwick).

This competent Deputy keeps his co-workers and City Hall under complete control while his personal life often goes haywire.

After Mike Flaherty eventually takes the blame for an alleged Mafia link that the Mayor unknowingly had, he resigns. A new deputy Mayor is sworn in - Charlie Crawford.

With a staff of wildly diverse characters consisting of a neurotic press secretary, a gay activist in charge of minority affairs, a chauvinist chief of staff, a highly efficient accountant, an idealistic speechwriter and an intrepid Mayor's assistant, it's hard to believe anything gets done.
