Season 9 Synopsis
Season 9, like previous seasons, sees the doctors deal with some of the most amazing cases.
The season starts off in dramatic fashion when a helicopter accident leaves Dr Romana physically disabled. He subsequently struggles to deal with what has happened, all the while taking out his anger on his fellow staff.
Dr Corday returns to Chicago from an unsuccessful work stint at home in England. Things don't get easier though as she continues to come up against a rampaging Dr Romano.
Abby is still struggling to deal with her drinking and her situation worsens when she realises that her pilot brother may have developed a similar mental problem to their mother. Later in the series, the plane that he was flying crashes and the brother can't be found.
Gallant is now an intern, though still ruffling some feathers at the hospital. Things get trickier when he has to get through his psychology rotation.
The hospital also gets a new older intern, Dr Nathan, who's struggling with a physical disability.
In a shocking move, Dr Carter and Dr Kovac decide to go to Africa where they feel that their work is needed.
The season ends with Dr Carter deep in the Congolese jungle.
