The
auditions are wrapped, the stage is set, the curtains are poised and the judges have been confirmed for SABC3's new acting reality show The Final Cut.
They are:
Actress and casting director Karin van der Laag
Karin started her acting career at the age of seven in the SABC Christmas production They Came from Afar.
She played Maggie on Isidingo for 12 years.
In 2011 she won the Best Actress in a Soap SAFTA for the role.
She's also an accomplished singer and pianist.
Her other TV acting credits include roles on Hard Copy, Zero Tolerance, Bloedbroers, Cape Town and Loitering in Jozi, where she played a casting director.
Her movie role credits include The Story of an African Farm, Les Deux Mondes, Hoodlum and Son, Hey Boy and God is African.
She's the casting director on numerous South African TV shows and works as a judge, coach and mentor for the National Eisteddfod Association, The South African National Community Theatre Association (SANCTA) and Talent Africa.
She has a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Drama and English from the University of Cape Town and a Performer’s Diploma in Speech and Drama
Actress, film director and writer Mmabatho Montsho
Mmabatho began her career as an actress in 2004.
She was one of the founder cast members of e.tv's Rhythm City, where she played Thembi Phakathi.
Her other acting credits include her roles as Lumka on Generations and Lerato on Jacob's Cross.
Her movie acting credits include uNomalanga & the Witch and Happiness is a Four Letter word, where she played one of the three leads.
In 2008 she trained in studio to become a multi camera director.
In 2011 she completed a filmmaking course at the New York Film Academy and directed her first for TV film titled Your Move! in the following year.
She joined the directing team on e.tv's Scandal! where she stayed until 2014 and went on to direct the web series Women on Sex, which interrogates the politics of sex and gender. She's also a scriptwriter on Mzansi Magic's prison drama Lockdown and wrote the short film The Groom's Price.
Filmmaker and director Thabang Moleya
Thabang was born in Thembisa and started his career in TV in his first year of high school when he became a K-TV presenter on M-Net.
He was given access to the post-production facilities and equipment, and started experimenting with making short films with two of his friends.
The TV shows he's directed include Jacob's Cross, Jozi-H, Interrogation Room, Montana, The Lab, Zone 14 and Sokhulu & Partners.
In 2016 he directed Happiness is Four Letter Word.
He was the youngest film director to compete in the 16th Africa Film Festival in Milan.
He's won numerous awards for Public Service Announcements in Dubai and South Africa (VUKA AWARDS) and won the Jameson Award for Best Short Film at the Sithenghi Film Festival.

The threesome join Clash of the Choirs and Club 808 host Lawrence Maleka who'll be hosting the series, which follows a similar format to SABC1's Class Act and BET's Top Actor.
14 undiscovered actors will be put through their acting paces each week with acting challenges where they'll either excel or crash and burn. Those who crash will get whacked until two winners make The Final Cut.
Their prize: a role on one of SABC's shows.
The series is produced by Endemol and premieres on Monday, 26 June at 19h30.
