Coroner 2
Channel: Universal TV (DStv 117)
TX Time: 20h00
Genre: Police Procedural, Drama
Inspired by the series of books of M.R. Hall, Coroner is a female-driven series following Jenny Cooper – played by Serinda Swan (Inhumans, Ballers) – a newly appointed coroner investigating suspicious deaths in Toronto.
Jenny is a brave and determined yet vulnerable coroner driven by an intense desire for the truth.
A former ER doctor and a recently widowed mother of a teenage son, her husband's death has unlocked a primal connection to death, tied to a secret in her past that is only now coming to the surface.
With storylines based on real-life cases, Jenny is a coroner of our time, an advocate for the dead even when it's inconvenient for the living, and defender of those who are powerless or in peril.
In Season 2, we return to Toronto where Dr Cooper still investigates suspicious, unnatural or sudden deaths.
In the aftermath of a devastating apartment fire, Jenny struggles to control a dangerous new outlet for her anxiety.
Meanwhile, a witness to the fire draws Detective Donovan McAvoy into a hidden side of the city.
The season dives deeper into what it means to live in the face of death.
Dr Cooper must trust her instincts, as her father's dementia worsens, her son turns 18, and her now-live-in boyfriend Liam is confronted by his own push and pull with death.
