House of Zwide

Channel: e.tv
TX Time: 19h00
Genre: Soapie

House of Zwide

Soap opera set which tells the rags-to-riches tale of a fashionable Johannesburg family who bring high drama and ruthless ambition as they rise to the top of the cutthroat fashion industry.

The show contrasts two worlds and two families: one is in Tembisa where the Molapo family reside and the other is Rosebank where we find the well-off and fashionable Zwide family.

Vusi Kunene stars as South Africa's most influential fashionista - the founder and owner of House of Zwide, Funani Zwide.

Winnie Ntshaba plays his supportive wife, Faith Zwide; and Motlatsi Mafatshe stars in the lighthearted role of Uncle Molefe, who brings moments of humour to the show.

The Godfather, Isaac (Jeffrey Sekele) is a sympathetic gangster and former Umkhonto we Sizwe veteran who was involved in the turbulent hostel wars during the mid-'90s.

Isaac is a loving father to two beautiful daughters and a husband to Rea (Matshepo Maleme), who is burdened with the secret that Ona is not her daughter - a secret which becomes even heavier when Isaac finally reveals who Ona really is.

Khaya Dladla plays Lazarus, Funani's life-long confidante who is responsible for interpreting and executing his designs.

Lazarus is always immaculately groomed and obsessed with neatness and order - and he takes no nonsense.

Nefisa Mkhabela stars as Ona Molapo, a young fashion designer who navigates the world of fashion with her BFF Shoki, played by Shalate Sekhabi.

Together they navigate the fashion world, overcoming any challenges in their path.

Londeka Mchunu stars as Zanele Zwide, Faith and Funani's daughter. Zanele is the apple of her father's eye – but still lives and dies by her mother's approval.

Zanele practically lives on Instagram, and she's only recently started proving herself as an asset to the family business through her role as an influencer.

Followers and friends are instantly mesmerised by Zanele's vivacious personality and style and everyone wishes to dress like her.

She's always rocking the Zwide family and business boat.

Nkosi Zwide, played by Wanda Zuma, is Funani and Faith's son. Nkosi is Funani's firstborn son, the Crown prince of the Zwide family.

Nkosi is eye candy, every woman's dream man, but he has his demons. He sees himself as the successor-in-waiting to his father but doesn't have an artistic bone in his body to drive the business.

Sandile (Paballo Mavundla) is one of three interns at House of Zwide.

Very good-looking and with a charming approach, Sandile is also cold and calculating when he needs to be and always aims to win at everything.

Noah Cohen plays the villainous De Villiers - the classic 'ruthless businessman'. Although he is always immaculately dressed, he is not afraid to get his fingernails dirty.

House of Zwide is produced by Bomb Productions and VideoVision Entertainment.

The Neighborhood 2

When Dave Johnson and his family arrive from Michigan, they're unfazed that their new dream home is located in a community quite different from their small town.

However, their opinionated next-door neighbour, Calvin Butler, is wary of the newcomers, certain that they'll disrupt the culture on the block.

In the Season 2 premiere, "Welcome to the Re-Rack": One year after the Johnsons moved next door to the Butlers, Dave is eager to take on a bigger role in Calvin's annual Yardecue and prove how much a part of the community he's become.

Mary Berry's Simple Comforts

Mary Berry's Simple Comforts follows Mary as she celebrates the best of comfort food, bringing fuss-free recipes that can warm the cockles and lift the spirits.

Across the six episodes, Mary braves the elements to discover, and cook, the most heart-warming dishes on offer in the UK and abroad.

These include the indulgent delights of Paris; the hidden gems along the majestic Thames; the traditional fayre of Ireland's abundant pastures; the comfort foods that remind us all of Home; the delicious seafood found along the stunning Yorkshire coastline and the steaming comforts perfect for a wintery Scottish night.

Taking inspiration from the people she meets and the food she tastes along the way, Mary brings us simple to cook dishes that will brighten up even the dullest of days.

In the series premiere, "Paris": Mary returns to the city where she learned to cook – Paris.

It is a place that lives and breathes food, and Mary wants to sample the very best of it.

Where better to start than a fromagerie to buy cheese for her own version of a melting, crunchy croque monsieur?

Next, under the spire of the Eiffel Tower, Mary enjoys the perfect bistro lunch, all washed down with a drop of fine wine, before she heads to one of the city's favourite creperies to finesse her technique - whipping up the classic lemon and sugar crepe.

Heading to one of Paris's bakeries, Mary is shown the underground secrets of perfecting croissants and producing the masses of baguettes that are baked fresh every day.

Inspired by the sweet pastries she spots in Parisian patisserie windows, Mary makes her own brioche and apple frangipane tart.

This is served up alongside a succulent slow roast leg of lamb with ratatouille and an elegant starter of a crab and herb blinis.

Escape to the Chateau: DIY 2

By moving to France and renovating their chateau, Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree from Escape to the Chateau have discovered that the French are not as interested in their old castles as Brits are.

The floors are rotten, the walls are crumbling, they cost a fortune to maintain and they're in the middle of nowhere. To the French, these are big problems.

To the Brits, they can represent a lifelong dream and the promise of a real adventure.

Escape to the Chateau: DIY tracks a number of British families who have made or who are in the process of making the monumental decision to leave home and chase the French dream.

Dick and Angel also share their expertise with these people who are following in their footsteps.

In this season, chateau favourites Dick Strawbridge and his wife Angel continue to offer advice and practical help to prospective chateau buyers, as well as to new and established chateau owners.

It's an all access pass into their everyday lives and struggles.

There will be ups and downs, tears, laughter and triumph, in their seemingly never-ending challenge to renovate and maintain their huge chateaus themselves.
