SAMA 30

The South African Music Awards honours the country's finest music talent in key categories, as they battle for the South African industry's highest honour - a statuette at the South African Music Awards.

Nominees also take the stage by storm with a series of performances, as the nation watches SA's finest talent at work.

The SAMAs have witnessed the evolution of South African music, from the vibrant rhythms of kwaito to the global sounds of contemporary artists.

They have been a platform for emerging talent, a showcase for established stars, and a reflection of the nation's changing social and political landscape.

This year the host of the ceremony is Minnie Dlamini, with red carpet duties being hosted by Kuhle Adams and Siphesihle Vazi.

The ceremony airs live at 20h00, preceded by a red carpet build-up at 19h30.

Leading the pack with five nominations is Grammy winner Tyla for her self-titled album, followed by Kabza De Small and Mthunzi with four nominations apiece; and Mbuso Khoza with three.

Divided By Design

As they run dueling design firms and bid against each other for clients in the red-hot Miami housing market, married interior designers Ray and Eilyn Jimenez use their professional rivalry to fuel their creativity in this docuseries.

In the nine-episode season Ray, who favours a modern eclectic approach; and Eilyn, who blends old-world influences with a timeless functional vibe, aim to wow potential clients with their distinct design aesthetics.

They know that only one of them will close the deal and get a chance to deliver the remarkable transformation that every client wants.

Every episode will follow the winning designer's process from beginning to end, resulting in stunning reveals that encapsulate the style and flare that is intrinsically Miami.

Alongside the primary design story, the duo also will check in on a high-end project, including the full gut renovation of their own home which has taken far longer than originally planned.

In the series premiere, "Designer Knows Best": Ray and Eilyn will vie for a $150,000 renovation project to overhaul an entryway, kitchen, child's bedroom and combo living and dining area.

Homeowner David is both the client and the contractor, yet his dark masculine style conflicts with his wife Bella's bright tropical vibe.

The chosen designer will help the couple balance their contradictory wishes by combining rich wood tones with light and airy furniture pieces to create a spectacular space that the family will love.
