Season 2
Charlie, Alan and Jake return for a second season of whackily negotiating women, sex, divorce, mothers, single parenthood, siblings, surrogate families, money and most importantly, love.
In the first season Charlie's idyllic, flashy life of fast cars and sexy women was turned upside down when his brother Alan moved in to live with him after his divorce, bringing his ten-year-old son Jake with.
What followed was a clash of personalities when relaxed Charlie had to contend with neurotic obsessive-compulsive Alan, all the while trying to remember that they have an impressionable ten-year old in their midst.
In this second season they're back driving each other more crazy as are their friends and family who complicate their situation further.
There's Charlie's and Alan's narcissistic, emotionally toxic mother, Evelyn, Alan's deeply neurotic ex-wife, Judith, Charlie's domineering, unapologetically blue-collar housekeeper, Berta and Rose a brilliantly manipulative and vaguely mad neighbor who had a brief fling with Charlie, is obsessed with him, and is determined to stay in his life by whatever means necessary
Despite the complexities of their lives and Charlie and Alan's strained relationship, the two brothers have one thing in common - they both love Jake and want what's best for him.
As a result, they manage to create a family unit that promises to make each one of them a better man.
