Season 4
This series, created by uber-author Michael Crichton, is set in the Emergency Room of a busy Chicago hospital. It follows the doctors and nurses through both their personal and professional lives and draws you in to their trials and tribulations.
In Season 4, we get to meet two new doctors. One is an English surgeon Elizabeth Corday and then there is the hot-shot arrogant surgeon, Dr Romano.
Dr Corday has a tough time getting used to working in the US, and working for Dr Romano proves extra trying.
Dr Kerry Weaver gets promoted once again, this time to Emergency Chief of Medicine, but as usual her management style ruffles feathers. Her situation worsens when she's forced to fire HIV positive Jeannie Boulet and legal action follows.
Dr Greene is still struggling to come to terms with the aftermath of his malpractice suit and his beating at the hospital. He also gets into a relationship with a desk clerk at the hospital.
Dr Ross attempts to open a specialist paediatric section at the hospital and rekindles his relationship with Carol. Carol meanwhile wants to open her own nursing facility.
Dr Carter gets back to the ER after giving up on surgery and has to figure out what he's going to do with his family's money.
Dr Peter Benton tries to get used to having a son while also pursuing his surgical career. We are also introduced to new resident Anna del Amico.
An exciting season with a ground-breaking first episode that was broadcast live.
