Season 5
When we last saw the team of the Fransen Hotel, Ferdie (James Borthwick) decided to retire.
Thomas (Beer Adriaanse) and Jony (Simoné Pretorius) are trying their best to make a success of the hotel, but all is not going to plan.
When Ferdie, who travelled overseas after his retirement, decides he wants his seat in the manager's chair back, Thomas and Jony refuse.
But maybe they need Ferdie to save their relationship?
In another twist the stork is visiting, there is a jacuzzi on the back of a bakkie, the soapie Getroud met Rugby gets involved and SARS has a couple of questions about the Fransen.
Also returning to the cast is Martelize Kolver (Brenda), Schalk Bezuidenhout (Danny), Mila Guy (Malanie), De Klerk Oelofse (Jaap), Manie (Ivan Botha) and Bennie Fourie (Dodgy Mike).
Some of the guest actors this season include Pierre Breytenbach, Rika Sennett, Franci Swanepoel, Danie Botha, Altus Theart, Theodore Jantjies and Christel van den Bergh.
In the Season 5 premiere: The two (or three) star Fransen Hotel is fighting to keep the doors open after a rough bunch of months with a world pandemic raging around them.
The director and head writer of the fifth and final season is Bennie Fourie with Beer Adriaanse, Ryan Metcalfe and Claudia van Zyl on the writing team.
Nagvlug Films produced the series with Scharl van der Merwe, Zandré Coetzer and Chanel Muller at the helm.
The series was filmed at the Kleinkaap Hotel in Pretoria.
