Season 1
Single Galz is a South African television sitcom created by Ryan Metcalfe, Nimrod Geva and Gilli Apter and produced by Quizzical Pictures as a spin-off from their series Single Guys, which continues after the last episode of Single Guys and follows Lerato as she moves in with her girlfriends and starts a new life as a single girl.
Single Galz is a show about three girls in their early twenties, making all the wrong moves in the world of relationships.
Lerato, Ntsiki and Sonto are not the hip, sassy, feisty girls on TV and in magazines that we've been taught to believe are the definition of a modern local woman.
These girls don't have anything figured out, even when they think they do, and they don't snap their fingers to make a point either.
OK... maybe sometimes they do but they're mainly clueless, awkward and bumping their way along, hoping to simply fall into the right relationship, job, life.
Mistake after mistake, these painfully funny characters will make us cringe with empathy and laugh with recognition. And we'll love the crazy cast of men they don't want to date, they want to date and sometimes actually date in this take on relationships, Mzansi-style, in the 21st Century.
And they're in total disbelief. Life is just not what they thought it would be like when they were 'older'. Every day is about coming to terms with the reality that things aren't how they thought they'd be when they were 12.
They may wake up in 10 years and be enlightened, know exactly what to do in a
relationship, know how to get a guy to marry them, know what they want to achieve and how to achieve it. But it's not 10 years from now - it's now and they're at a total loss.
With this lot the score is pretty much always: Life: 1 - Girls: 0.
