Season 1
FONT is a South African sitcom produced by Curious Pictures for SABC3 about a staff of no-hopers who work in the backroom of a fictitious print shop in Orange Grove, Johannesburg, called Font and Sons.
It premiered on SABC3 on Thursday 11 October 2007, at 21h30. There are 26 episodes in the first season.
Synopsis
Font and Sons is a slightly down-at-heel family printing business in the suburb of Orange Grove, Johannesburg.
The owner, Henry Font, provides a safe haven for a ragtag bunch of workers: Brendan, the technician and Lothario; Layla, a good girl from Durban; Clyde, an eccentric designer; and Dora, the local sandwich seller.
But their world is threatened when Henry is killed in a freak accident, and with an inept enthusiasm his son, Luke, attempts to take command of the business in spite of every obstacle put in his way by the existing staff.

The show is performed in front of a live studio audience.
The writing team for FONT includes Kagiso Lediga and David Kibuuka – known most recently for their acclaimed work in the feature film Bunny Chow.
FONT brings on board directors John Barker of Bunny Chow and Cobus Roussouw, longtime collaborator with Desmond Dube. Dube himself is a producer of the show.
