Season 2
The L-Word girls are back for a second season of this edgy drama series that takes a no-holds-barred look at living and loving Lesbian.
The first season introduced fiction writer Jenny Schecter who had just graduated from the University of Chicago. With a major literary award and one published short story to her credit, she arrived in Los Angeles to begin her "adult life" with her boyfriend, Tim Haspel, an anthropology student.
Tim resides in West Hollywood, next door to Bette Porter and Tina Kennard, two thirty-something professionals, who, after seven years together, have been navigating the choices and challenges that lesbians face when trying to start a family. They also struggle with the direction of their relationship and what the future holds for them.
Bette and Tina’s close network of friends include Shane McCutcheon, a hairdresser and the resident heartthrob, Dana Fairbanks, a tennis pro not yet out of the closet, her bisexual pal, Alice Pieszecki and Bette's half-sister Kit Porter, who is a musician and a recovering alcoholic.
As Season 1 unfolded, Jenny’s self-image and future plans were rocked from their foundation when, at a party hosted by Bette and Tina, Marina, a beautiful and compelling café owner, makes a pass at her in the bathroom. Amid denial and confusion, Jenny started questioning her love for Tim and her attraction to Marina.
In this second season Jenny and her friends continue their sexploits and struggles and discover new things together, including new people who get involved in their lives.
New to the season are:
Carmen de la Pica Morales
A bold, sassy DJ who wants to make it big in the music spinning scene and pays her bills by working as a production assistant. When she meets Shane it's lust at first sight.
Helena Peabody
The daughter of a wealthy arts benefactor, who takes Tina's fancy.
Mark Wayland
A documentary film maker who moves in with Shane and Jenny and makes them part of a documentary.
