Season 2
Alles Malan is a South African, Afrikaans-language television drama series created by Corné and René van Rooyen and set in the Western Cape town of Paarl, which revolves around four generations of the Malan family.
Derik and Brenda Malan (played by Albert Maritz and Elsabé Daneel) are the patriarch and matriarch.
Through their marriage of 40 years, they've managed to raise an "almost" perfect family.
After eight years in England, Frik (Ivan Zimmermann) - the firstborn - returned to take over the reins of Malan Vervoer, the family business.
His wife Tessa (Nadia Valvekens), a successful lawyer, was forced to turn housewife.
Their teenage daughter, Elani (Greteli Fincham), discovered she is pregnant and Freek (Mateo Olivier) - their adopted son - battled with his identity.
Nico (Sean-Marco Vorster), the youngest Malan son, was on the verge of marriage to Lee-Ann (Nicole Fortuin), but quit his job to pursue his rugby dreams.
The role of great-grandfather Peet is played by Marius Weyers.
In Season 2, the Malan's family relationships are tested even further.
Nico and Lee-Anne are expecting their first child and Frik is struggling with a failing family business, Malan Transport, whilst Tessa's career is going from strength to strength.
This season looks at the changing role of men in modern Afrikaans families.
What is the role of the father? What happens if a wife earns more than her husband?
Then there's Brenda, who wants to enter the business world; Elani, who is torn between two men; and Freek, who is in love with the most popular girl in the school - but first he must get her out of the clutches of a bully.
In the Season 2 premiere: Lee-Anne and Nico expect their first born.
Derik receives grave news about his health.
Also, Malan Transport is struggling whilst Tessa's career flourishes, Johan breaks Elani's heart and Freek falls in love.
Alles Malan is an M-Net Original Production produced by kykNET and Red Letter Day Pictures.
The directors are Corné and René van Rooyen, who wrote the new season in partnership with Leon Kruger and Retief Scholtz.
The new season was, as with the first, filmed in Paarl and Wellington.
