Season 5
Monk returns for a fifth season. In the premiere episode: After Michelle Cullman lures Jack Leverett to her apartment for an illicit tryst, Jack becomes furious when he discovers a hidden video camera.
Jack and Michelle struggle over the camera, the fight escalates, and Michelle winds up dead. Jack wipes away his fingerprints, grabs the camera, and flees the scene.
The next day, Monk and Natalie arrive at Michelle Cullman's apartment to investigate. In addition to Capt. Stottlemeyer and Lt. Disher, there's a new face on the scene, a big time Hollywood actor named David Ruskin.
Ruskin is set to play Monk in an upcoming movie, and he wants to follow Monk around as research for his new role.
Monk is excited, but Natalie is concerned that Ruskin could hinder the recent progress Monk has made with Doctor Kroger. Monk ignores Natalie's warnings, and shows off for Ruskin by making several flashy deductions and discoveries at the crime scene.
Tony Shalhoub (Big Night, Wings, Men in Black) earned three Emmy Awards (with six nominations), a Golden Globe Award and two SAG Awards for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his portrayal of Adrian Monk, a brilliant detective who suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Traylor Howard (Two Guys and a Girl, Me, Myself and Irene), Ted Levine (Heat, Moby Dick) and Jason Gray-Stanford (Taken, A Beautiful Mind) also star.
Monk was executive produced by David Hoberman (Bringing Down the House, The Negotiator), Andy Breckman (The Late Show with David Letterman, Rat Race), Tony Shalhoub, Randy Zisk (House, Grey's Anatomy) and Tom Scharpling (The Best Show on WFMU).
David Breckman (Saturday Night Live), Jack Bernstein, Hy Conrad and Joe Toplyn serve as co-executive producers. Anthony Santa Croce (Carnivale) is a producer with Fern Field (Kane & Abel, Heartsounds) serving as consultant.
