Season 2
From executive producer Dick Wolf and the team behind Chicago Fire comes Chicago P.D., a police drama about the men and women of the Chicago Police Department's District 21 who put it all on the line to serve and protect their community.
District 21 is made up of two distinctly different groups: the uniformed cops who patrol the beat and go head-to-head with the city's street crimes and the Intelligence Unit that combats the city's major offenses - organised crime, drug trafficking, high profile murders and beyond.
The vast responsibilities that these jobs entail extend far beyond the walls of the precinct, often taking an emotional toll on personal lives of these men and women.
At the helm of the Intelligence Unit is Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), a man not against crossing legal and ethical lines to ensure the safety and security of the city he loves.
It's not unknown for him to be an ally one minute and the worst enemy the next.
Working hand-in-hand with Voight is Detective Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda).
More levelheaded and honest than his counterpart, Antonio put his reservations about Voight aside to help the Intelligence Unit track down Chicago's most dangerous criminals while acting as a role model for the younger officers.
Rising through the ranks in the Intelligence Unit is Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), a brash young detective who earned his spot on the team with the aid of Antonio's endorsement.
The precinct also includes Alvin Olinsky (Elias Koteas), an experienced undercover detective and confidant for Voight; Kyle Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), a quick-witted cadet plucked from the police academy to join Olinsky on undercover assignments; Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins), a charismatic uniformed patrolman who loves to throw a great party; Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), a uniformed patrolman who strives to one day become a part of the elite Intelligence Unit; and Sheldon Jin (Archie Kao), the neat and meticulous detective in charge of surveillance and tech ops.
In the Season 2 premiere, "Call It Macaroni": Intelligence is thrown when an undercover job turns into a manhunt for two brothers, and Voight is under scrutiny as Jin's murder investigation transpires.
As the Sheldon Jin murder investigation moves forward, Voight is under close watch by Internal Affairs but he's still in complete command of the intelligence unit.
A routine undercover job becomes anything but when Voight's SUV is T-boned while trailing an armoured car carrying Ruzek.
At District, Burgess meets her new partner, Sean Roman (Brian Geraghty) and tension is high from the start. Soon she realises there's more to his story.
After a long day, Lindsay pays a visit to someone she hasn't seen in a very long time - her mom, Bunny (guest star Markie Post).
Stella Maeve, Robert Ray Wisdom and Ian Bowen guest star.
In addition to Wolf, executive producers include Matt Olmstead (Chicago Fire, Breakout Kings, Prison Break), Peter Jankowski (the Law & Order brand), Michael Brandt (Chicago Fire, 3:10 to Yuma), Derek Haas (Chicago Fire, 3:10 to Yuma), Danielle Gelber (Chicago Fire) and Mark Tinker.
Chicago P.D. is produced by Wolf Films in association with Universal Television.
