Season 2
Season 2 continues with the same edutainment formula to promote the health and wellbeing of children aged 8-12. Soul Buddyz 2 deals with issues about the Environment, HIV/AIDS and sexuality, racism and xenophobia, learning disabilities and children's rights and justice.
The action packed Soul Buddyz 2 comes in new exciting filming formats and features great original music composed with the children performing the songs.
Also new in this season is the showcase of new talent with the introduction of the Massive Buddyz, a new group of Buddyz based in a rural area. The Massive Buddyz concept brings the spotlight on children in rural areas who are generally not catered for in television productions.
The main focus here is on Thapelo, a new Buddy who has to deal with discrimination and other challenges due to AIDS in his family.
In Soul Buddyz 2 the old Buddyz - Andre, Avril, Hamilton, Jerome, Karabo, Siya and Zandi - are joined by Bonnie, Duma, Praveena, the twins Rebone and Kebone, Frikkie, Thapelo, Ndzivhuho and Delange, to confront new challenges and together find ways to deal with them.
Season 2 stars Innocentia Lumadi, Jafta Mamabolo, Tsholofelo Wechoemang, Delange Bunene, Tertia Coetzee, Wesleigh Kapotis, Sihle Mangqu, Salamina Mphelo, Shaughn Reyneke, David Meyer, Melanie Du Bois, Nicole Munsammy, Archie Nhlapo, Lwazi Noyana, Khumo Dolo, Maungo Dolo and Walter Meyer.
Season 2 is produced by Wild Side Productions for SABC Education with Bobby Heaney and Peter Ndoro. Season 2 writers include Tshepo Mokono, Rosalind Butler and Craig Freimond. Music is composed by Culturescapes, with Andrew Smith and Joe Matsheka. Bobby Heaney is the director.
