Season 2
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (also known as Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) is an American superhero science fiction comedy-drama television series created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen and based on the Marvel Comics organization S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division) and set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, sharing continuity with the films in that franchise.
Agent Phil Coulson puts together a small team of normal, non-superhuman S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to handle strange new cases with some of them involving the mysterious Project Centipede and their experiments with Extremis. Each case tests the team in cooperation and ingenuity as they try to work together in trying to save the world from threatening, supernatural events on Earth.
Coulson's team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage; Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), expert pilot and martial artist; Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), brilliant engineer; and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), genius bio-chemist.
Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet).
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel's first television series, is from executive producers Joss Whedon (Marvel's The Avengers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, who co-wrote the pilot (Dollhouse, Dr.Horrible's Sing-Along Blog). Jeffrey Bell (Angel, Alias) and Jeph Loeb (Smallville, Lost, Heroes) also serve as executive producers.
The series is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.
