Home and away is a popular soapie from Australia that has been in production since 1998. It features the life and times of the inhabitants of a fictional small coastal town in New South Wales called Summer Bay.
Initially, the Fletcher Family (consisting of Pippa and Tom Fletcher, and their foster children) were the center point of the soapie. Now, however, this classic Australian soap depicts the trials and tribulations, plus the romances, arguments, successes and failures of the people of this town, only two of whom have lived there for the last 17 years, Alf and Sally.
Home and Away tends to attract a mainly teenage audience and features a constantly-rotating teenage cast with several older actors who tend to last considerably longer.
